About

Michael Paul Lewis is a Bath-based, multi-award-winning Architectural Illustrator whose work celebrates architecture through intricate, hand-drawn detail. Using black ink on paper, his illustrations capture the character and atmosphere of buildings, cities and landscapes, often accented with carefully placed blocks of colour to draw out key features within each scene. His distinctive style combines precision with warmth, making each piece both visually striking and quietly contemplative.

His work has been exhibited and published widely in the UK and internationally, including at the World Architecture Festival and Sir John Soane’s Museum, London. Alongside his illustration practice, Michael works as an Architect in Bath and teaches architecture at local universities. Each artwork reflects a deep appreciation for place, craftsmanship and thoughtful design, offering timeless pieces that connect people to the built environment.

Sustainability

Michael’s creative practice and products are fundamentally simple, sustainable and responsibly made. His original works are hand drawn in the south-west of England with a single pen on recycled cartridge paper. His limited-edition prints are produced in the UK through a sustainable printing business and carefully packaged at home. A keen cyclist, Michael delivers prints to local independent retailers by bike, minimising carbon emissions and fostering direct connections with the local community.
